FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Clear information can make taking the next step feel easier. Explore answers about appointments, care, insurance, and psychological testing.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept a range of insurance plans. Because coverage varies by plan and service, we recommend contacting our office to confirm whether your insurance is accepted and to understand your benefits and coverage options. Please see a partial listing here.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Getting started is simple. You can request an appointment through our website or contact our office directly at 866-557-7924. If you’re unsure which service or provider is right for you, we can help you determine where to begin.
Can I choose between in-person and virtual sessions?
Many of our services are available virtually, offering the flexibility to receive care from a comfortable and convenient setting. In-person availability may vary by provider and service. Our team can help you find an option that works for you.
Is my information confidential?
Your privacy matters to us. Information shared as part of your care is treated confidentially and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and professional standards. Your provider can discuss confidentiality and its limitations with you during your care.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first appointment is a chance to be heard and understood. Your provider will learn about what brings you in, your history, current concerns, and goals. Together, you can discuss recommendations and determine appropriate next steps. You do not need to have everything figured out before your first visit.
What services do you offer?
Thrive Mind Health brings psychiatry, therapy, evaluations, and medication management together in one practice. Services may include individual, couples, family, and group therapy; trauma-informed and mindfulness-based care; neurodivergent-affirming and multicultural care; psychiatric evaluations; medication management; psychological assessments; and neuropsychological testing.
What if I'm unsure whether I need therapy, medication, or an evaluation?
You don't have to know before you make an appointment. We can help you understand your options based on what you're experiencing, your goals, and your history. Your care may involve therapy, psychiatric care, medication, an evaluation, or a combination of services.
Do I need a diagnosis before making an appointment?
No. You can reach out even if you have never received a diagnosis or aren't sure what you're experiencing. An initial appointment can help clarify your concerns and identify appropriate next steps.
Do you provide medication management?
Yes. Our psychiatric providers can evaluate whether medication may be appropriate as part of your care and can provide ongoing medication management when indicated. Treatment decisions are individualized based on your symptoms, history, current medications, goals, and preferences.
Do you provide therapy without medication?
Yes. Therapy can be provided independently of medication management when appropriate. Our goal is to help you find an approach that fits your needs rather than assuming one type of treatment is right for everyone.
Who do you provide care for?
We provide services across different stages of life, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, depending on the provider and service. Our team can help connect you with care that is appropriate for your age, concerns, and needs.
What types of therapy do you offer?
Our providers draw from a range of therapeutic approaches based on each person's needs and goals. Services may include individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, neurodivergent-affirming, multicultural, and other evidence-based approaches.
How long is a typical therapy session?
Session length can vary depending on the type of service, your provider, and your individual needs. Your provider will discuss the recommended session length and format with you when scheduling or during your initial appointment.
How often will I need to attend therapy?
There is no one schedule that works for everyone. The frequency of appointments depends on your goals, concerns, treatment approach, and clinical needs. Your provider will work with you to determine a schedule that makes sense for your care.
What is psychological testing?
Psychological testing uses standardized assessment tools to better understand areas such as emotional functioning, behavior, personality, attention, learning, memory, and cognitive functioning. Testing may help clarify concerns, inform diagnosis, and guide treatment or recommendations.
Why would I need a psychological or neuropsychological evaluation?
An evaluation may be helpful when you are looking for greater clarity about symptoms, functioning, or a possible diagnosis. It can provide a more comprehensive picture of strengths and challenges and may help guide treatment, accommodations, or other recommendations.
What types of evaluations do you offer?
The type of evaluation depends on the questions you are trying to answer. Services may include psychological assessments, neuropsychological testing, and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations. Your provider can help determine which type of evaluation is most appropriate for your concerns.
Can you evaluate for ADHD?
If you are experiencing concerns with attention, focus, organization, impulsivity, executive functioning, or related symptoms, a comprehensive evaluation may help determine whether ADHD or another condition may better explain what you're experiencing. Your provider can discuss the appropriate evaluation process with you.
Who are the professionals on your team?
Our team includes mental health professionals with different areas of training and expertise, allowing us to offer a range of psychiatric, therapeutic, and assessment services. You can learn more about each provider's background, specialties, and approach on our Meet the Team page.
How do I know which professional is right for me?
You don't need to figure this out on your own. Consider what you are looking for—therapy, psychiatric care, medication management, an evaluation, or a combination—and we can help guide you toward a provider whose experience and approach align with your needs.
What makes Thrive Mind Health different?
We believe mental health care should begin with understanding the whole person. Our approach brings together psychiatry, therapy, evaluations, and other forms of support so you can access care that reflects your experiences, goals, relationships, and stage of life.
